Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch green beans or long green beans, 1 pound cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper minced optional
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed

Method

  1. In a frying pan add your oil on medium heat.
  2. Add your diced onions and sautee until translucent.
  3. Add your hot pepper and sautee for a minute.
  4. Add your minced garlic and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add your curry powder and sautee for 30 seconds and follow with your green beans.
  6. Add a splash of water, about 1/4 cup and mix until well coated.
  7. Season with a pinch of salt and cover with a lid to steam green beans. When the beans are almost cooked to your liking, remove lid to let any extra liquid cook off.
  8. Serve hot on ad a side or with roti like Sada roti or paratha roti (buss up shut).
